Solar Panel Cleaning

Dust, pollen, and bird droppings cost you real kilowatt-hours. We get them back.

About this service

What solar panel cleaning actually looks like.

Solar panels lose 5–25% of their output when they're caked with Colorado dust, pollen, pine sap, and bird droppings. The film is mostly invisible from the ground — but your inverter sees it every day.

We clean panels the way the manufacturers ask you to: deionized pure water, soft brush heads, no detergents, no high-pressure spray. The same pure-water system we use on upper-story windows is exactly what panels need.

Our process

Here's exactly how we do it.

  1. 1

    Pre-clean inspection

We check for cracked cells, loose clamps, exposed wiring, and frame damage before any water touches the array — and flag anything you should know about.

  2. 2

    Soft pre-rinse

Pure water rinses loose grit off the glass first so nothing gets dragged across the panels during brushing.

  3. 3

    Soft-brush wash

Carbon-filtered, deionized water through a soft solar-rated brush head lifts pollen, dust, and bird droppings without scratching the anti-reflective coating.

  4. 4

    Pure-water final rinse

Mineral-free water rinses the array and dries on its own with no spots, no streaks, and no soap residue to attract more dirt.

  5. 5

    Walk-through

We confirm the array looks clean from the ground and let you know if we spotted anything worth a closer look from your installer.

Common questions

Solar Panel Cleaning — FAQ

Will cleaning my panels void the warranty?+

No — most manufacturers explicitly recommend periodic cleaning with deionized water and a soft brush, which is exactly what we use. We avoid the things that DO void warranties: pressure washers, abrasive pads, and detergents.

How often should panels be cleaned?+

Once a year is the sweet spot for most Front-Range homes. Properties under heavy tree cover, near agriculture, or with frequent bird activity benefit from twice a year.

Can't the rain clean them?+

Rain rinses loose dust but bakes pollen, sap, and bird droppings into a hard film. Inverter-monitoring data from cleaned vs. uncleaned arrays typically shows a noticeable jump in output after a proper wash.
